The Waterford Democratic Committee will host Assemblymember John T. McDonald for a Zoom Town Hall Event on Wednesday, July 16, 2025. John will discuss and answer questions about the recent federal budget proposals and their potential impact on vital programs like Social Security, Medicare, and Medicaid.
John has an amazing record of public service. Currently, as a member of the NYS Assembly, he chairs the important Governmental Operations Committee, and serves on the following committees: Alcoholism & Drug Abuse; Health; Higher Education; and Ways and Means. John focuses on his strengths in local government, health care, and small business, and he has sponsored and passed legislation into law to reduce unfunded mandates to local governments, control the cost of property taxes, support job growth and workforce development, strengthen access to health care, and address the opioid crisis.
There is nobody in the New York State Government better qualified to talk about the upcoming crisis that Trump and the Republican Congress are going to impose on us. All New Yorkers, but especially those of us in the 108th Assembly District, are extraordinarily fortunate that John is advocating for our interests in the NYS Legislature. And we on the Waterford Democratic Committee are excited that John is willing to share his knowledge about what New York can do to resist, respond, and compensate for the damage that the Trump Regime seeks to inflict on us.
